Are behavioural interventions for insomnia that focus on sleep restriction and stimulus control effective in older adults?

At present I’m completing my MSc in Research Methods of Psychological Science at the University of Glasgow.

For my MSc thesis I am supervised by Dr Maria Gardani, Dr Satu Baylan, and Prof. Jonathan Evans. We are conducting a systematic review exploring the efficacy of different behavioural interventions for Older Adults with Insomnia.

Currently we are in the early stages of developing our search strategy and this page will be continuously updated as the project progresses.

Please see Contact Me if you would like more information on this project.

Mindfulness Scotland: “Train to Teach”

Currently I’m completing a one year training course with Mindfulness Scotland.

This course intends to train Health & Social Care professionals to deliver Mindfulness Based Approaches to those suffering from a variety of physical and psychological health issues, as well as to those wishing to explore ways of managing stress.

It’s my intention, that once certified as a Mindfulness Trainer, I can utilise this within my research. Exploring the utility of mindfulness in people living with conditions such as dementia, stroke, TBI; as well as if it can alleviate stress in their families/carers.
